The government is expecting a sharp growth of 30 percent this year in the mining industry as an aftermath of a revitalization program that would net P110.4 billion in gross value added (GVA) by the end of the year.
The growth would be 22 percent higher than what was registered last year, said Environment Secretary Horacio Ramos in a speech read at the national convention of the Philippine Society of Mining Engineers held at the Waterfront Insular Hotel Davao here on Thursday.
